Programme Managers

The role of a Programme Manager working in the community development sector is to ensure that communities are able to participate effectively in projects aimed at regenerating the social, economic, cultural life of their local area. An example of this would be ensuring that tenants are given adequate advice and support during any stage of a regeneration project.
Project Managers need to have a good knowledge of the communities in which they are working and to be able to support staff and CD workers who are working at community level. Ideally Project Managers should undertake community development training either as part of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) or through part-time or full-time study.
